Interface engineered ferroelectricity in van der Waals heterostructures is of broad interest both fundamentally and technologically for the applications in neuromorphic computing and so on. In particular, the moir\'e ferroelectricity in graphene/hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) heterostructures driven by charge ordering instead of traditional lattice displacement has drawn considerable attention because of its fascinating properties and promising high-frequency programmable electrical polarization switching. Yet, the underlying mechanism of the electronic ferroelectricity is still under debate. On the other hand, combining the interface engineered ferroelectricity and strong correlations in moir\'e heterostructures could enable the realization of novel quantum states such as ferroelectric superconductivity and multiferroicity. Here we study the electronic transport properties of twisted double bilayer graphene (TDBLG), aligned with one of the neighbouring hBN. We observe a strong gating hysteresis and ferroelectric-like behaviour, as well as the electronic ratchet effect. We find that the top gate is anomalously screened. On the contrary, the back gate is anomalously doubly efficient in injecting charges into graphene, that is, the effective back gate capacitance is two times larger than its geometry capacitance. This unexpected gate-tunable capacitance causes a dramatic change of electric fields between forward and backward scans. The asymmetric gating behaviours and anomalous change in capacitance could be explained with a simple model involved with a spontaneous electric polarization between top hBN and graphene. Simulations of chemical reaction probabilities in gas surface dynamics require the calculation of ensemble averages over many tens of thousands of reaction events to predict dynamical observables that can be compared to experiments. At the same time, the energy landscapes need to be accurately mapped, as small errors in barriers can lead to large deviations in reaction probabilities. This brings a particularly interesting challenge for machine learning interatomic potentials, which are becoming well-established tools to accelerate molecular dynamics simulations. We compare state-of-the-art machine learning interatomic potentials with a particular focus on their inference performance on CPUs and suitability for high throughput simulation of reactive chemistry at surfaces. The considered models include polarizable atom interaction neural networks (PaiNN), recursively embedded atom neural networks (REANN), the MACE equivariant graph neural network, and atomic cluster expansion potentials (ACE). The models are applied to a dataset on reactive molecular hydrogen scattering on low-index surface facets of copper. All models are assessed for their accuracy, time-to-solution, and ability to simulate reactive sticking probabilities as a function of the rovibrational initial state and kinetic incidence energy of the molecule. REANN and MACE models provide the best balance between accuracy and time-to-solution and can be considered the current state-of-the-art in gas-surface dynamics. PaiNN models require many features for the best accuracy, which causes significant losses in computational efficiency. ACE models provide the fastest time-to-solution, however, models trained on the existing dataset were not able to achieve sufficiently accurate predictions in all cases.

The simultaneous localization and recognition of subwavelength non-cooperative entities within complex multi-scattering environments using a simplified system continues to pose a substantial challenge. This letter addresses this challenge by synergistically integrating time reversal time-frequency phase prints (TRTFPPs) and neural networks. Initially, a time reversal (TR) single-input single-output (SISO) framework is employed to generate TRTFPPs. To enhance the models' adaptability, particularly in the presence of noise, data augmentation techniques are applied. Subsequently, neural networks are employed to comprehend the TRTFPPs. Specifically, a cascaded neural network structure is embraced, encompassing both a recognition neural network and distinct neural networks for localizing different entities. Through the devised approach, two types of subwavelength entities are successfully identified and precisely localized through numerical simulations and experimental verification in laboratory environment. The proposed methodology holds applicability across various electromagnetic systems, including but not limited to detection, imaging, human-computer interaction, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Relational triple extraction is a fundamental task in the field of information extraction, and a promising framework based on table filling has recently gained attention as a potential baseline for entity relation extraction. However, inherent shortcomings such as redundant information and incomplete triple recognition remain problematic. To address these challenges, we propose an Implicit Perspective for relational triple Extraction based on Diffusion model (IPED), an innovative approach for extracting relational triples. Our classifier-free solution adopts an implicit strategy using block coverage to complete the tables, avoiding the limitations of explicit tagging methods. Additionally, we introduce a generative model structure, the block-denoising diffusion model, to collaborate with our implicit perspective and effectively circumvent redundant information disruptions. Experimental results on two popular datasets demonstrate that IPED achieves state-of-the-art performance while gaining superior inference speed and low computational complexity. Accurate description of nonadiabatic dynamics of molecules at metal surfaces involving electron transfer has been a longstanding challenge for theory. Here, we tackle this problem by first constructing high-dimensional neural network diabatic potentials including state crossings determined by constrained density functional theory, then applying mixed quantum-classical surface hopping simulations to evolve coupled electron-nuclear motion. Our approach accurately describes the nonadiabatic effects in CO scattering from Au(111) without empirical parameters and yields results agreeing well with experiments under various conditions for this benchmark system. We find that both adiabatic and nonadiabatic energy loss channels have important contributions to the vibrational relaxation of highly vibrationally excited CO(vi = 17), whereas relaxation of low vibrationally excited states of CO(vi = 2) is weak and dominated by nonadiabatic energy loss. The presented approach paves the way for accurate first-principles simulations of electron transfer mediated nonadiabatic dynamics at metal surfaces.

Entanglement entropy is a fundamental concept with rising importance in different fields ranging from quantum information science, black holes to materials science. In complex materials and systems, entanglement entropy provides insight into the collective degrees of freedom that underlie the systems' complex behaviours. As well-known predictions, the entanglement entropy exhibits area laws for systems with gapped excitations, whereas it follows the Gioev-Klich-Widom scaling law in gapless fermion systems. Furthermore, the entanglement spectrum provides salient characterizations of topological phases and phase transitions beyond the conventional paradigms. However, many of these fundamental predictions have not yet been confirmed in experiments due to the difficulties in measuring entanglement entropy in physical systems. Here, we report the experimental verification of the above predictions by probing the nonlocal correlations in phononic systems. From the pump-probe responses in phononic crystals, we obtain the entanglement entropy and entanglement spectrum for phononic systems with the fermion filling analog. With these measurements, we verify the Gioev-Klich-Widom scaling law of entanglement entropy for various quasiparticle dispersions in one- and two-dimensions. Moreover, we observe the salient signatures of topological phases in the entanglement spectrum and entanglement entropy which unveil an unprecedented probe of topological phases without relying on the bulk-boundary correspondence. The progress here opens a frontier where entanglement entropy serves as an important experimental tool in the study of emergent phases and phase transitions which can be generalized to non-Hermitian and other unconventional regimes.

This study introduces the concept of "structural beauty" as an objective computational approach for evaluating the aesthetic appeal of images. Through the utilization of the Segment anything model (SAM), we propose a method that leverages recursive segmentation to extract finer-grained substructures. Additionally, by reconstructing the hierarchical structure, we obtain a more accurate representation of substructure quantity and hierarchy. This approach reproduces and extends our previous research, allowing for the simultaneous assessment of Livingness in full-color images without the need for grayscale conversion or separate computations for foreground and background Livingness. Furthermore, the application of our method to the Scenic or Not dataset, a repository of subjective scenic ratings, demonstrates a high degree of consistency with subjective ratings in the 0-6 score range. This underscores that structural beauty is not solely a subjective perception, but a quantifiable attribute accessible through objective computation. Through our case studies, we have arrived at three significant conclusions. 1) our method demonstrates the capability to accurately segment meaningful objects, including trees, buildings, and windows, as well as abstract substructures within paintings. 2) we observed that the clarity of an image impacts our computational results; clearer images tend to yield higher Livingness scores. However, for equally blurry images, Livingness does not exhibit a significant reduction, aligning with human visual perception. 3) our approach fundamentally differs from methods employing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for predicting image scores. The vast majority of people who suffer unexpected cardiac arrest are performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by passersby in a desperate attempt to restore life, but endeavors turn out to be fruitless on account of disqualification. Fortunately, many pieces of research manifest that disciplined training will help to elevate the success rate of resuscitation, which constantly desires a seamless combination of novel techniques to yield further advancement. To this end, we collect a custom CPR video dataset in which trainees make efforts to behave resuscitation on mannequins independently in adherence to approved guidelines, thereby devising an auxiliary toolbox to assist supervision and rectification of intermediate potential issues via modern deep learning methodologies. Our research empirically views this problem as a temporal action segmentation (TAS) task in computer vision, which aims to segment an untrimmed video at a frame-wise level. Here, we propose a Prompt-enhanced hierarchical Transformer (PhiTrans) that integrates three indispensable modules, including a textual prompt-based Video Features Extractor (VFE), a transformer-based Action Segmentation Executor (ASE), and a regression-based Prediction Refinement Calibrator (PRC). The backbone of the model preferentially derives from applications in three approved public datasets (GTEA, 50Salads, and Breakfast) collected for TAS tasks, which accounts for the excavation of the segmentation pipeline on the CPR dataset. In general, we unprecedentedly probe into a feasible pipeline that genuinely elevates the CPR instruction qualification via action segmentation in conjunction with cutting-edge deep learning techniques. This paper investigates the flocking control of a swarm with a malicious agent that falsifies its controller parameters to cause collision, division, and escape of agents in the swarm. A novel geometric flocking condition is established by designing the configuration of the malicious agent and its neighbors, under which we propose a hierarchal geometric configuration-based flocking control method. To help detect the malicious agent, a parameter estimate mechanism is also provided. The proposed method can achieve the flocking control goal and meanwhile contain the malicious agent in the swarm without removing it. Experimental result shows the effectiveness of the theoretical result.
